Take Proactive Measures to Lower Your Impact on the Environment by Going Solar

The Solar for Business Programme is an initiative to aid Victoria-based businesses in cutting back on their energy expenses by embracing renewable energy solutions.
Through this initiative, eligible businesses can enjoy reduced upfront costs for installing government-approved small-scale solar PV systems with an inverter capacity of up to 30kW. Moreover, to contribute to the economic revival of Victorian businesses and the wider solar sector, the Government will provide a total of 15,000 solar PV rebates over the next three years.
At Energy Efficient Technologies, we proudly serve as an authorised solar retailer for the Solar for Business Programme.

Am I Eligible?

Refer to the information below to determine your eligibility for government rebates on solar PV systems. If you still have doubts, kindly complete the enquiry form below, and someone from our team will reach out to you and help you address the issue.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Solar for Business rebates, all types of entities, including charities and not-for-profit organisations, can be eligible if they fulfil the following criteria:
Both business owners and tenants, whether they own or rent their premises, are eligible to apply for the Solar for Business rebate. However, it’s important to note that a rental provider or landlord cannot claim the rebate on behalf of a business.
You must note here that the rebate is applicable only for installations that take place after the programme’s opening for applications on May 28, 2021. Any systems installed before this date do not qualify for the rebate.

What is Covered Under the Rebate?

Under the Solar for Business programme, businesses can receive rebates that cover up to 50% of the cost of installing a rooftop solar system on their premises. The maximum rebate amount available is $3,500, which helps reduce the upfront expenses associated with solar installation. Moreover, businesses can opt for an interest-free loan to cover the remaining costs.
It is important to note that the rebate amount is capped at either 50% of the system cost or $3,500, whichever is lower. For instance, if the total net costs of installing solar amount to $10,000, the rebate applied would be $3,500 (not $5,000). Similarly, if the net costs are $4,000, the rebate applied would be $2,000 (not $3,500).
The maximum rebate amount of $3,500 will be available until all the 5,000 projected rebates have been fully allocated. After this point, the maximum rebate amount will be reduced to $1,750.
Please note that the net costs mentioned include the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and any contribution made through Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs).
